    Story:
Council discusses how to strengthen landlord registry at Public Works Committee meeting.
TROY – Steps were taken to strengthen the city’s current landlord registry legislation as legislators discussed the proposal with the public during a Public Works Committee meeting on Wednesday.
The city will now be asking property owners to obtain a Residential Occupancy Permit and create a rental dwelling registry as a means to hold more landlords accountable and preventing them from becoming negligent.

“The summary is there was a lot of talk about local areas that are up and coming and why, and that this is a great area to invest in due to the new chip plant and the nanotechnology center in Albany. They said the biggest driver in investment is good schools and things to do for all of the new workers coming to the area who don’t want to own homes but rent so they can have a great lifestyle instead of a mortgage. Saratoga, Albany and Schenectady were the major areas. Latham, Malta, and Glens Falls too.”

We’d definitely recommend attending these events in the future!

Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region (RMHC) is dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of children and their families. RMHC does this by providing comfort, support and respite for families of seriously ill children in a compassionate and home-like environment through the Ronald McDonald House of Albany and its additional core programs that serve those in need.

Action Investors Network (AIN) is a Capital District group of active real estate investors and those servicing the industry. Supporting the greater Capital District in Albany NY, AIN is an organization dedicated to helping real estate investors grow their businesses. Through monthly meetings and an online forum the group connects new investors with those more experienced, sellers with buyers, and private/hard money lenders with those looking to borrow.

Action Investors Network (AIN) raised $2,000 in member donations for Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region (RMHC). AIN announced an exciting strategic partnership between RMHC and AIN at their monthly meeting Monday evening, May 21, 2012.

Ronald McDonald House, a home away from home for families of seriously ill children, is finalizing exciting plans for the expansion of their Albany location, and AIN members are helping them accomplish this. AIN members donated $2,000 to the cause, and Home Depot donated gift cards used for a raffle. The RMHC project will involve partners such as Gilbane Construction, BBL, HCP Architects, Balzer & Tuck Architects and Habitat for Humanity. Not only did AIN members donate money, but members plan to volunteer to help with the project. In order to make it even more interesting, AIN and the Latham Office of Keller Williams are having a friendly competition to see who can raise more money and offer more helping hands in support of the project. Debbie Ross, RMHC House Director, and Ronald McDonald House families attended Monday’s AIN meeting to thank members for their support.
